Sclerotherapy

Dr. Gallagher provides patients in the Long Island, New Rochelle, Mineola and surrounding areas of New York with sclerotherapy.

Spider veins have become an issue that is all too common for many men and women. Fortunately, there have been many advances in technology to insure you no longer have to hide your skin. Dr. Gallagher offers sclerotherapy for patients in the Mineola, Long Island and New Rochelle areas to treat unwanted spider veins.

Sclerotherapy works with the use of a chemical sclerosant that is injected into the vein to seal off and shut down the unneeded spider vein. Sclerotherapy can be used on the legs, hands and face in the comfort of our office.

Dr. Gallagher uses the special 94D laser by Dornier in conjunction with sclerotherapy. This combination of laser and sclerotherapy to treat spider veins is the so-called “double-injury technique”. This makes treatment of spider veins more efficient, as well as more aesthetically pleasing because it virtually eliminates staining of the skin, which can occur with conventional sclerotherapy
